Jann Mardenborough (pobjednik Gt Academya, vozio je gp3 prosle sezone) je ima nesrecu na Flugplatzu na Ringu, auto se dignuo u zrak, presao s druge strane ograde te ranio nekoliko gledatelj. Jedan gledatelj je preminuo

Necu stavljat slike ni video jer nije bas lijep prikaz (a i na mobu sam), tek tolko da se kaze rijec i o tome, posebno jer su mozda neki ovdje prije par godina lovili vremena u GT-u

Na videu se ništa ne vidi, meni nije strašno bilo. Nesreća uvelike podsjeća na onu Webberovu iz '99 s LM-a, samo što Jannov auto nije napravio dva salta, već dok je bio na 90 stupnjeva, sudario se s barijerom. A poginuli je osmogodišnje dijete.

al kako ga je diglo prije zavoja. Možda nije ništa strašno, ali dosta je to kaj ti se auto tak zapiči u barijeru di su ljudi

I još malo restrikcija...
U Flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz i Antiniusbuche (onaj lijevi nakon Dottinger Hohe pravca) je stavljeno ograničenej od 200 km/h, a na Dot. Hohe 250  hmm, skinut će i 5% snage motora, te će se ograničiti pristup fanova.

Race car drivers are human, they can't beat death, but they certainly do conquer it every time they get behind the wheel.

Without the quick actions of the Holmatro Safety Crew, the blood loss could have potentially proven fatal within minutes. It's yet another reminder of how perilous racing still is, but these drivers know the stakes when they're chasing racing immortality at 230+mph around Indianapolis Motor Speedway, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. They aren't ignorant to the danger, they accept it. I admire that and think Tony Kanaan and Sebastien Bourdais put it best. There's plenty of people that can drive fast, but as Kanaan says in that piece, "Not everybody can do this."

It will never be completely safe, no matter how hard we try

Motorsports have never been and never will be completely safe. The concept of auto racing and absolute safety don't really go together. We can only take appropriate measures without diluting the on-track product and ruining the sport in the name of protecting its participants. And yes, there is always room for improvement.

The essence of racing IS danger and competition though, we can't forget that. It's a desire to push the limits and tease the line between complete control and unmitigated chaos. It's about victory and failure, triumph and tragedy. These are all part of the fundamental core that make auto racing what it is.

A league of their own

The fact that all drivers involved in these accidents this month are alive and only one injured should be applauded, but yet, I still see a contingent of people who are bewildered and outraged by the fact that a driver could somehow get hurt doing this. Of course they can. That's why they're in a league of their own and that's why I rank race car drivers above most other sportsmen in the world (as did Ernest Hemingway).

The best out there get in their cars with a desire to win and no fear of the harsh consequences that await them, should something go wrong. They dance with chaos, trying not to trip at speeds exceeding 200mph, inches apart from one another. They are human, they can't beat death, but they certainly do conquer it every time they get behind the wheel.

It takes a certain kind of person to be a race car driver. When they throw themselves off into the corner, they are putting their lives in the hands of the machine they are driving, trusting it and having faith that it will carry them out the other end. At those kinds of speeds, every fiber of your being will be telling you that you're going too fast and need to slow down, an instinct all racers overcome. Even after the violent accidents we've seen recently, all got back into the car and ran as fast as they did before, undeterred. I'm sure Hinchcliffe would do the same, if he were physically able.

Why is it worth it?

Why is it worth the risk, some who don't understand the esoteric mentality of a racer will question. If you have to ask, you'll never truly understand because you don't think like them. If there is a proper answer though, I think Bruce McLaren can give a better response than I ever could. He was a driver who ended up being one of those who paid the ultimate price and perished in pursuit of the checkered flag. He gave this eulogy at the funeral of his friend Timmy Mayer, who was killed in 1964 after a practice crash in the old Tasman Series, six years prior to Bruce's own racing-related death.

To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone.

That is what it means to be a race car driver and that is why I love racing. That is part of the reason why events like Indy and Le Mans are held in a higher regard than others. Not because there is the constant threat of injury, but because the drivers know the risks of what they do and yet, they race on.

Danas u Pekingu poćinje druga sezone Formule E

Ujutro su se vozile kvalifikacije, ovo su rezultati superpolea


Piquet, prvak prve sezone, je imao problem s zaglavljenim gasom (nešto ala Rosberg u Rusiji) i slupao sa ne FP1

Ove sezone šasije ostaju iste, kao i baterije, ali momčadi, odn, konstruktori mogu imati svoje motore, inventere i mjenjače. Na temelju viđenog, Renault je napravio najbolji posao.

Utrka je u 10h po našem vremenu, prijenos je na Itv4, a mislim da bi i ovo trebalo raditi FIA Formula E Championship - Live Streaming - Official FIA Formula E Championship + Watch Formula E Practice, Qualifying And Full Race LIVE On YouTube! - YouTube

Po mom mišljenju, grid je još jači nego prošle godine, Od većih novih igrača, treba spomenuti Villeneuvea (jedini F1 prvak), Robina Frijnsa i Simonu de Silvestro

Nije bila loša utrka. Istina, gledali smo i boljih prošle sezone, ali što je tu je. Nakon prve utrke prošle sezone nisam bio siguran hoću li uopće pratiti ostale utrke, da bi na kraju imali super sezonu.

Na čelu je Buemi naravno odjurio naprijed (iako je prvih par krugova dalo nadu da će biti i borbe za pobjedu). Renault je pogodio s pogonom, (e)Dams je odličan gdje god se pojavi, a Buemi vrlo dobar vozač koji te sve sastojke može iskoristiti. Za razliku od maloga Prosta (čini se da ga Peking baš i ne voli)... Nije mi bila jasna ona situacija s crno-narančastom zastavom. Kaj nije ti u prijevodu "odmah ulazi u boks i popravi taj auto ili odustani", a ne "ej... čuj... daj nastavi voziti još pet krugova s raspadajućim bolidom dok se ne odlučiš hoćeš li uči u boks ili ne" :/
Slična situacija bi bila da je Abt najbolja momčadi. Di Grassi bi orao pobjede svaku utrku, a Abt glumio Prosta.
DS Virgin je po meni gubitnik utrke, imaju brzinu, imaju vozače, ali ako će trošiti ovoliko energije neće daleko doći. Točno se vidjelo koliko su JEV i Bird nekoliko puta trebali raditi više/dulje lift&coast i gubili pozicije. Treba reći da je problem s potrošnjom vjeorojatno i veći nego kaj se danas vidjelo jer smo ipak imali dvije FCY.
Turvey je odlično iskoristio te FCY i završio puno bolje nego je realna pozicicija tog NextEV-a.
Frijns nije razočarao na debiju. Šteta kaj vozi 1 god stari bolid

I za kraj, treba spomenuti da prijenos i nakon godinu dana još uvijek radi glupe greške. Npr onaj "all team team radio", za kaj to služi?! Neke dvoboje su pokazivali iz dosta čudnih kuteva, pokazuju previše reakcija u garažama umjesto akcije na stazi, a i rado bih vidio kak je AFdA okrenuo Villeneueva (bio je još jedan incindent koji su preskočili)

20.11 je kup nacija, a 21.11. (subota) je utrka prvaka

Mali roundup Dakra, danas se vozi prva prava etapa.
I prije nego je krenulo, krenulo je loše - jučer je tokom 11km prolougea Mini sletio u gledatelje i ozlijedio 11 ljudi, 2 (otac i sin  cry1) ozbiljnije > 11 spectators injured in Dakar prologue accident

Na tom prolouge se javio i prvi problem za Peugeot, Sainz je neko vrijeme vozio s ovakvom haubom


Razlog je izgleda voda (Tom Coronel je u jednom svojem videu, nakon što je dobio solidan mlaz vode u kokpit buggya, rekao da je bio jedan prolaz vode za koji su im rekli da je cca 30cm dubok zapravo bio skoro 60cm. Možda je to taj Sainzov)


Kako razlikovati laviće

ono... treba ti kocka od 16 kubika da spakiraš taj auto i oni su od svih mogućih stvari našli farbati taj sitni usis, po pijesku će se jedva kužiti razlika

S Loebom je došao i Hirvonen...


Ieto, taman dok sam ovo pisao je sletila vijest da je prva etapa otkazana zbog sigurnosnih uvjeta...  kava1
