Evo jedan slatki video, još dok su bile Toyote u igri. Borba za vodstvo.
2012 Le Mans 24 Hours Lead Battle Audi vs Toyota (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfvkKRmd2X8#ws)
Šteta da su se Toyote potrle (ko i nekad lol), bila bi zanimljivija borba u LMP1 klasi, sad Audi nema konkurencije.
The grid will include six LMP1, twelve LMP2, six LMGTE Pro and eight LMGTE Am entries and will be joined at some events, like at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, by some race-by-race entries.
The LMP1 entry includes two Audi R18 e-tron quattros and two Toyota Racing Toyota TS030 hybrids setting up a head-to-head battle for the world title in 2013 before Porsche arrives in 2013. LMP1 will also see two privateer entries and the prototype grid is further bolstered by an impressive 12 car entry in LMP2. As well as Audi and Toyota, the prototype grid will also feature other manufacturers such as Nissan, Morgan, Lotus, Oreca, HPD-Honda, Zytek and Lola.
The grid for the GTE classes will feature 14 cars with a total of five Ferrari 458s, four Porsche 911 RSRs, four Aston Martin Vantage V8s and a single Chevrolet Corvette C6-ZR1 from reigning GTE Am team champions Larbre Competition. The battle for the LMGTE Pro title will be a three-way fight between three manufacturers who have a long and illustrious history in endurance racing, including many victories at Le Mans over the last 90 years.
SRT has announced plans to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with two Viper GTS-Rs.
Set to enter the LM GTE Pro class, the model will attempt to recreate the remarkable string of victories that occurred in the late1990's. Starting in 1998, the Viper placed first and second in GTS class for three consecutive years.
In a statement, SRT CEO Ralph Gilles said "Historically the Viper GTS-R has enjoyed great success at Le Mans, so we couldn’t be more excited and proud to accept the challenge to return to France and continue composing the next chapter in the history of Viper racing at such an historic venue.”
As we have previously reported, the Viper GTS-R was jointly developed with Riley Technologies and features an aerodynamic body kit with new bumpers, a revised hood and a prominent rear wing. In American Le Mans Series spec, the cars have to weigh at least 2,745 lbs (1,245 kg), produce 450-500 hp (336-373 kW) and have a limited top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
Caterham Formula 1 reserve driver Alexander Rossi will race a Greaves Motorsport Zytek LMP2 at the Le Mans 24 Hours in the colours of the grand prix team.
Renault chief operating officer Carlos Tavares has revealed that he is open to the idea of the new 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 becoming the basis of a sportscar engine once it has been proven in F1.
Co-driven by GT Academy Russia judge Roman Rusinov, the third place finishing G-Drive Racing Oreca-Nissan has been excluded from the official results following a technical infringement regarding an oversized fuel tank.
The maximum permitted fuel tank size in LMP2 is 75 litres and the #26 car has been found to be over this limit. While G-Drive boss Simon Dowson insists the infringement gave them no advantage and was beyond their control, pending any appeal this moves Jann, Lucas and Michael up to the final step of the LMP2 podium and 9th overall.
With a strong, cool wind blowing across the track, conditions were tricky and eight of the 25 cars present chose not to run in the final 3-hour, Saturday afternoon session. Only one car improved its best time from the last two days, the No.8 Toyota Racing TS040 Hybrid of Davidson-Lapierre-Buemi, but it was the No.2 Audi Sport Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro of Fässler-Lotterer-Tréluyer which set this afternoon’s fastest lap (1:43.423). Porsche’s new 919 Hybrid made an impressive debut in the FIA WEC and the team’s No.20 ended up as the fastest car overall in the hands of Timo Bernhard, Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley. The only red flag of the two days came out this afternoon when the No.14 Porsche lost a wheel while out on track.
Audi has abandoned the Formula 1-style exhaust-driven hybrid system on its new R18 e-tron quattro World Endurance Championship challenger.
The German manufacturer revealed during the launch of its 2014 livery in the city of Le Mans today that it will race with just one energy-retrieval system rather than the permissible two, and that the R18 will run in the lowest of the four sub-classes of hybrid power.
Audi has opted not to race with the Energy Retrieval System - Heat, which is known as a Motor Generator Unit - Heat in F1, after extensive testing on the second-generation R18 since the end of last year.
That means it will recuperate energy to be stored in its flywheel mechanical battery only via a new version of the front-axle kinetic system (ERS-K) that it has run for the past two years.
In 1995, hopes were high at Courage, a manufacturer based in La Sarthe and successors to local hero Rondeau. In the absence of major manufacturers in the top prototype class, the cars of Yves Courage were among the fastest, and reliability seemed assured by the official support of engine partner Porsche. However, nothing would go as planned!
The deluge!
From the start, the heavy rain wreaked havoc with prototypes and the advantage went to the GT cars. In early evening, the famous Mario Andretti made a mistake in trying to keep pace and broke the suspension of his Courage against a wall of the Porsche Curves. The repair that followed lasted more than half an hour, but all was not lost, the improving weather expected for Sunday was expected give a decisive advantage to the prototypes.
Double trouble
However, the unexpected zeal of a sponsor who, in the early morning called for a change of the rear bodywork to allow his logo to be seen. What should have been a simple operation turned into a nightmare when one of the latches, damaged by the earlier accident, was jammed, and its release took 4 minutes. It turned out to be a minute too long, because, as expected, the return of the sun speeded up the prototypes, and soon No.13 trailed by only 3 minutes behind the winning McLaren. Although a failure, this result remained the best for Courage. Even the great Henri Pescarolo was unable to do better when his team is finished second in 2005 and 2006.
At 17h05, today Wednesday 11 June, the No.1 Audi left the track at very high speed at the Porsche Curves, at Marshals Post No.131. The incident occurred during the free practice session for the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Conscious, the driver was taken into the care of the ACO’s Medical Services, extracted from the car to an ambulance and then immediately transported to the Le Mans’s Centre Hospitalier where he will undergo further examination.
His condition is encouraging.
The tests recommenced at 17h55.
Duvalu nije ništa, na sreću.

The legality of the Porsche 919 has been questioned at the Le Mans Test day. During the official pre event photo session the updated 919 was seen for the first time by rival teams and it was noted that a significant portion of its engine cover and rear bodywork flexed with a gentle finger push.
The panels either side of a cutout around the rear crash structure deform visibly and will clearly lower when the car is at speed. This seems to be in breach of article 3.4 of the technical regulations which states that ‘Movable bodywork parts/elements are forbidden when the car is in motion.’
