Xbox360Achievements.org has spent some time with the upcoming breakaway series, Forza Horizon and the details included makes the wait seem even longer – to say the least. The game itself is described as “the younger brother that’s just more fun and outgoing” and “Horizon is the Forza franchise’s mid-life crisis, you know, the guy that turns 30 and knocks back Jager bombs like he’s in his 20s… Yes, the fun guy!”, which should ease some of the concerns about Horizon’s direction.
It also addresses many of the concerns regarding Horizon’s use of the Forza Motorsport 4 physics engine and the continual reference of it being tweaked into “action racing”, well, the article cites that as being PR speak and goes on to clarify that the game itself can sit on the midway point between simulation and arcade, commonly referred to as “simcade”, or can effectively be adjusted to sit in either two of the genres. It’s difficulty is purely your choice just as it has been in the Motorsport series.
One of Horizon’s touted features is fast-travel and while it may have come across that this feature is available across the expanse of the Colorado map, it simply isn’t. In fact there are only a certain number of points players will be able to fast-travel to, and these points on the map are referred to as Outposts; traveling to these points will cost a fee and will require having discovered the Outpost to do so, however, if players succeed in the PR Stunts at each of these Outpost stations fast-travel to that point will be free.
